February

February was a busy month! Although it is still winter, our temperatures this month have ranged from wind storms, ice, and snow to above average warmth and sunshine.
We began February with the celebration of Chinese New Year! Hosted by Danielle and Elli, our students from China! There was lots of traditional snacks and foods to try, along with lessons on Chinese writing.  The tradition continues of our Grade 9 students playing buddies for the day to Grade 7's coming from our sister schools as well as some from other schools wanting to see what Immaculata is all about. Another tradition in our school is the Grad Show which is the big fundraiser for out Grade 12 students. There are a few pictures of Raul participating in the fun. Our adventure this month was a trip to Telemark Mountain for a day of snowshoeing! The Spanish Club hosted Zumba last week! Finally, our Social Justice 12 class participated in the Sustainable Development Challenge. This involves teams from different schools around Kelowna coming together to present their projects to a panel of judges who decide on the winners and financial awards are distributed to help the students fund those projects. This year our school had 3 teams participating, one of which included one of our Grade 12 students, Raul.
