Dear CISND Families,
As we gather with loved ones this Christmas season, let us pause to reflect on the profound mystery of Christ’s birth. In the Gospel of Luke, we are reminded of the simplicity and wonder of that holy night:
"And she gave birth to her firstborn son, wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a
manger, because there was no room for them in the inn... The angel said to [the shepherds],
'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.'"
(Luke 2:7, 10-11)
This sacred moment—the humble birth of the newborn King, God made man—calls us to embrace the light of Christ and share it with others. As Catholic educators, parents, and parish members, we are united in the sacred mission of forming children as disciples of Christ, committed to lifelong learning and dedicated to serving others with faith and love. Together, we place the Gospel message at the heart of all we do, fostering growth in faith, knowledge, and community.
Christmas is a season when our hearts overflow with gratitude for the blessings God has bestowed upon us: the gift of faith that illuminates our path, the joy of witnessing Christ alive in our children, the love shared within our families and school communities, the peace that comes from living out the Gospel, and the hope that sustains us as we grow together in our mission. These blessings remind us of God’s grace at work in the partnership between home, school, and Church.
Like the shepherds who responded to the angel’s message and the Magi who followed the star, we are guided by the light of Christ to proclaim the good news of His birth. May this holy season inspire us to bring His love and joy into our schools, homes, and communities, serving one another with faith and compassion.
On behalf of the CISND Board and administration, I extend my prayers and best wishes to you and your family this Christmas. As we celebrate the birth of Christ, may His peace fill your hearts, His hope strengthen your faith, and His love unite us as a community. May God bless you and your loved ones with the joy of Christmas and guide you in the year ahead.
