GRADS OF 2020 – WHAT KEPT YOU HERE?

GRADS OF 2020 – WHAT KEPT YOU HERE?

GRADE 12’S – WHAT KEPT YOU HERE?

It’s official! There is another crop of Immaculata Grade 12 students preparing for graduation, applying to post-secondary schools and cramming a whole year of excitement, anticipation, hard work and fun into the coming months. They are a diverse group of individuals all with different interests and future plans.

Some have been at Immaculata since Grade 8, while others joined the Immac family sometime during the last 5 years.  When speaking to the Grade 12 class, it is apparent that they feel a strong level of loyalty to Immaculata. There are a few unique elements that they indicated were important to them and why they have remained at Immaculata until their year of graduation:

  1. SMALL SCHOOL – A smaller school allows students to feel like part of a community. It is easier for students to get involved and have leadership roles. The students indicated that they like knowing everyone in their graduating class by name and that they feel like a little family.

  1. SMALL CLASSES - As you move into the upper classes at Immaculata, the class size tends to decrease. This provides a great opportunity for students to get more one-on-one instruction and become more involved in the class. Small classes are great environments for discussions and debates – something that might not be possible with a larger group of students.

  1. TEACHERS – The Grade 12’s felt that the teachers are well qualified and provide good preparation for their future education. They feel supported by their teachers. They know that they can go to any of their teachers and ask for extra help with class material or support with personal issues.  Teachers have become friends.

We are all looking forward to seeing where life will take this year’s graduating class. One thing we know for sure is that they have achieved a solid foundation on which to build.  GOOD LUCK CLASS OF 2020!
