Faith in Action – Community Christmas Projects at Immaculata

Immaculata Angel Tree Toy Drive – Grades 9, 11, 12 & Staff

This year Immaculata students in Grades 9, 11, 12 and the staff, are supporting an Angel Tree Toy Drive  for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Immaculata Conception Parish in Kelowna. Angel Tree gift tags have been placed on the Angel Tree in the school foyer.  Each gift tag has been identified as for a boy or girl of a given age. Immaculata students and staff will choose a gift tag and work with one or two other people to choose a gift for this child. Each new gift or gift card purchased should be of $30 value. The gift or gift cards must be delivered to school by Monday December 9th. The gifts should be placed in a gift bag and not wrapped. The gifts will be brought up at mass at the school on 11th of December when we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at the school. There will be members of St. Vincent de Paul on hand to receive the gifts donated. St. Vincent de Paul will host an event for parents of these children to come and choose from the selection of gifts that we have collected and give them to their children.

Christmas Hamper – Grades 8 & 10, Mission Trip Team

Through Kelowna Community Resources (KCR), Immaculata has been matched with a family who needs help this Christmas. They are a family of four including two very young children. KCR asks that a hamper value for a family of four be at least $500 with $200 being given in grocery gift cards.

We are asking all students in Grade 8 and 10 and on the Mission Teams to bring a minimum donation of $5 to go towards the hamper. Mission Team members will shop for the gifts for the family and the Grade 8 and 10 students will wrap the gifts. We are also gratefully accepting wrapping paper, bows, tags and gift bags.  Please send in cash and wrapping donations by Monday December 9th.
